I feel I am grown up

Time flies, these days I realized I have been in America by myself for almost a year. That means a lot for me, because I used to be a girl who was never far from family, far from parents’ care. So I think I am grown up now. I can tell from I know how to live on my own, how to try my best to get thing done well, how to make myself to get closer to my life target.
I am grown up because I know how to live on my own. I didn’t use to know how to live on my own when I was in China. Parents did a lot thing for me. For example doing laundry for me, sending me to school, picking clothes for me, they also told me that I shouldn’t do anything because it is bad. But now I pretty sure I am doing everything on my own. I guess environment taught and force me to learn how to live on my own with taking good care of myself. First I know health is most important thing for me to live overseas by myself. So I am eating regularly and healthy. I am working out like American everyday, I care about my body. Another thing I have to face is sometimes live on my own is an experience that is full of loneliness. I always stay home by myself most time to deal with my class stuff or think about my plan for that day like when is the best time to go shopping, when I get to cook dinner for me or how to hang out with my friend on weekends. I am grown up I am living on my own, and I am doing good.
I am grown up because I know how to try my best to get things done well. I was not good at getting things down well before. But now I learned how to do it. For example I work on my school stuff everyday. I write essay and revise it. To make it better ,I look through information on-line, or borrow some book from school library or talk with my writing center tutor or pay attention when I hang out with my friends, try to learn something. All I want is get my essay done well. For my theater class, I work on our team project with my team members together. I want to finish it better, so I have been to library a lot to look at information or borrow some books about theater. Finally I cooperate with my team members pretty well, get our project really successful.
I am grown up because I am trying my best to get closer to my life target. All I am doing now is for my life target, to be a successful business woman. I feel I am getting closer to my life target through going to college, live on my own, making a lot of friends. Staying in college is the first step to be a successful business woman. I am learning in college, I am getting smarter. I know what I want in my life, that I want to do in my life and how to make it easier to close my target. Secondly making a lot friends do help me to realize what I need learn from others to make myself better. Living on my own is an important way to get me closer to my life target. It makes me to know myself well, to push me go through something tough which is good for me.
I can tell I am grown up because I know how to live by myself, how to get things done well, how to get closer to my life target. I feel I am getting my whole life together, walking toward my future.

Mobile phones absolutely are a important part in out daily life,I believe people would be umconfortable without them.But anything has its good point and bad point. But i think mobile phone reallt brought a lot convinence to people's life.I am of the opinion that the mobile phone has made our life much easier.Firstly,communication is made a lot easier with the advent of the mobile phone.A mobile phone is carried all over the places with us in pockets,attached to the belt or in handbags.We can call any people we want no matter where is he.It is so easy and fast.Some even walk around with mobile phones in their hands.This will make it easy for everyone to contact us no matter where we are as long there is signal for the telecommunication service.We never have to worry about not being able to contact anyone.This is the first convinence we enjoy with a mobile phone.Secondly,short messaging service or in short SMS is a popular feature for mobile phones.Most mobile phone users send SMS regularly to friends,passing short messages,important data,greetings and jokes.Texting is easy to deal with,we can hold our friend any time we want,even they are working.Because it is so fast and easy to text.This helps to strengthen their relationship with better communication.For professional purposes vital data can be sent without a fuss to the recipient or a co-worker who is out of the office.Previously,we would have to look for a fax machine to do the same task.That is a big hassle.Moreover sending SMS is cheap,hence the popularity is understandable.Finally,with sophisticated technology,mobile phones can be used to access the Internet,watch television pro grammes,listen to music,play games,join contests,check on cinema and restaurant listing,check on traffic summonses,confirm university acceptance and send image messaging service.

Many features will be available as technology improves further.Therefore,I believe a mobile phone has brought innumerable convinence and ease to us.

Computer's influence on people

In the last hundred years,people have set a new mind-blowing rate for the developing of new technologies. New produces are being conceived every minute of every day, all of which will impact people in some respects. However,in all these technologies and produces computers have been the most important influences on people. Some people assert that computers have made life more complex and stressful, while some people believe that computers have made life easier and more convenient. From my point of view, the advantages of computers are the leading sides and computers become a necessary part in people＇s lives. Perhaps computers may quicken our pace of life and make our life more complex and stressful. With the development of computers almost every jobs need people who are well up in computer technology. People, who want to find a good job, must learn how to use computers. On one hand,the computer technology is a very complex subject. If you want to use computers very well, you must take a lot of time to study and practice it. On the other hand, computers develop so fast that people must study new technology constantly. Those all make people feel stressful. Even though there may be one or two disadvantages to develop computers, the advantages fast outweigh them. The major point for my penchant for computers is that computers can help people do many things, including complex computation, storing and searching information and some work that is dangerous for people to do. For instance launching a rocket up to outer pace needs so complex computation that people can not do it without computers; searching the newest information is of vital importance for business, so people will not be success in business without computers. Computers have facilitated many of our working processes and we have already grown dependent on them. Another advantage of computers is that people can use them for entertainment in spare time. From pc games to online chatting, computers have the ability to entertain us in a wide verity of ways. After a busy day, playing pc games is the favorite thing of most of my classmates. And in today＇s life, a lot of young people could have not televisions, but they must have a set of computer. Now many films display fascinating images by using computers to deal with them. In a word in spite of the fact the computer appears to have made life more complex and stressful, I fell that the advantages are more obvious. Computers have become an integral part of everyday life. They can help us do much work and make us funny.

Some thought about protecting our environment

Many people are active in fighting against unfair treatment to colored people, women , animals and so on. Right now I am talking about fighting for respect to our environment. Though the environment doesn’t have a mouth to deprecate what humans have done to her, she retaliates through action. In the early years the Chinese cut down large quantities of trees, at the source of the yellow river, which led to the disappearance of big forests and terrible floods. As a result,the Huangtu plateau which was once covered with grass and forests was turned into barrens that supported fewer plants. Another example was in several developed countries. Because many chemical factories discharged poisonous gas without filtering it, cities were covered with so much poisonous gas that people were killed by the air they breathed in. What horrible scene!
What we are suffering is only a small part of what the nature once suffered. If we don’t take action to show respect to the environment, we will have to face an increasingly awful situation.
Measures should be taken to protect the environment on which we are relying. First governments should forbid destroying vegetation, rivers and lakes, oceans, as and the atmosphere as well. Second voices should be made to announce the public of the importance of protecting the environment. Third enterprises should pay special attention to the effect they have on the environment and work out solutions for the problems.
Only by changing the way we treat the environment can we get along well with it. Only by saving the environment can we save ourselves.

My Freshman Year in College

We will never forget my freshman year in college. In general it is a time filled with anticipation, some anxiety, and wonderful discoveries.
College is much different than high school. You may decide to commute from your home to a local campus. Without doubt, the most dramatic freshman year is for those living away from home. What can we expect as we head off into the wonderful world of higher education?
The first thing I notice is the workload. It is heavier and more intense than I ever experienced before. The major challenges of college work are large volume of reading, short deadlines, and “endless” writing. A related effect that can be brought on by the workload is doubt, frustration, and loneliness if possible.
On some of those long, seemingly endless nights of studying and writing, it will be very natural for me to long for fine old days. Hang in there. These down periods will pass.
I have made a lot of new friends. I am sure college friendships will be among the most satisfying and long-term in my life. It's always exciting to discover how wonderfully diverse college relationships can be.
I am enjoying my newfound freedom. Stay up until dawn talking about my ideals and ambitions with my dorm's regular bull session buddies. Sleep in until the afternoon on a light class day. Explore the local town or suburbs with one or two of my new friends.
I even start to think about my future. Going to college is as much about finding out who am I as it is about getting the degree.

Some Things Chinese college Students should Learn from American College Students


I have been studied in America for almost a year. I am already accustomed the American education system. With time going on, I find out some points that our Chinese colleges are good to learn from American colleges. We Chinese colleges should pay attention the importance of teamwork. We also set ourselves in an independent situation.
I found out American colleges pay attention on teamwork. They would like to take time to have a team meeting or something to talk about their project in detail, then everyone would get his work. That is really an effective way to work on the team project. Every member in this team get a chance to work on this project, at the same time it does make the project go on fluently. Everyone has his own focus about his project. After each member finish his work, team members will meet again for putting all the information together. To make the project look more smooth, team members get together to give some suggestion about how to revise the detail in this project. During time, team members meet when they feel they need talk more about project. Our Chinese college is better at doing stuff by ourselves. We don’t pay attention on teamwork. Even though we got a team project, we won’t meet during the time that we work on it. Chinese college do own job instead of communicating much. When time is right, Chinese colleges will meet as the first time to put things together no matter it is responsible or not. This is no good for our academic study.
American colleges’ independence impresses me from the first day when I meet my first American friend. They are always busy because they need get good grades at school and make money to support their living expense or more. They work during school year and summer time and winter time. If we go to some store near campus, those employees are all colleges. Colleges take all the job position. At the same time work on campus is another way to make money. They learn work experience through work from real and can reduce parents’ stress for sure. However, Chinese colleges are still parents’ babies. Parents support everything of our expense. Chinese colleges think study is our only work for colleges. Other thing like working for real is going to be something after graduating. They don’t want to worry about it yet, just enjoy our college time. But truth proves that American college always more capable then Chinese colleges, which can be found in work for real in the future. Because American colleges already know what’s the way in career. They understand that because they went through when they were very young.
Those are what I found out the differences between American colleges and Chinese colleges. I do think those are something worthy to learn for our Chinese colleges. That would help us a lot in the future.

Some thoughts about life

As we grow, we learn many things about life. Some of these lessons are easy and some are difficult. What is the best way to learn them? Some believe that they can learn best by listening to the advice of others, while some people believe that it is better to learn through personal experience. Both methods have their advantages. In the first case, learning by listening to others, we have the benefit of learning from others’ mistakes and are thus being able to avoid them ourselves. We can take advantage of the experience and wisdom of our friends and family. This will help us to make better decisions and avoid costly errors. Furthermore, the people who know us well can advise us effectively because they understand our strengths and weak nesses. At the same time, they are sometimes able to see situations more objectively than we are. In the second case, learning through doing, we have the advantage of gaining meaningful experience. We will no doubt better remember the lessons we learn when we enjoy the rewards or suffer the consequences ourselves. Moreover, we can often develop other skills through personal experience and can learn from our mistakes. Finally, no two people are exactly alike. Therefore, what family and friends think may be suitable for them, but not appropriate for us. Given a choice between these two ways of learning about life, I would still choose the former, learning through the advice of others. This is because I believe I should take advantage of all the resources available, and the experiences of my family and friends are a valuable resource. For example, if I were preparing to take my first trip abroad on my own, the advice of others who have already experienced such a trip could only help me. Just as we can learn from history, we can learn from the past actions of those close to us. In conclusion, I find advantages in both ways of learning. Although I prefer to learn by listening to the advice of others, that does not mean I will forgo learning through my own experiences. It does mean, however, that I will approach new experiences with the added benefit of my family and friends’ good advice.
